The Joy of Shared Moments

Sharing the bible together over a cup of tea

I find that life is richer through shared moments.

The shared giggles at the dinner table as my five year old tries out his latest joke.

The phone call that allows that dear friend to hear my tearful voice.

The school gates chat as we bemoan the winter weather together.

Even if it’s a snatched moment, I’m grateful for being in it with others. And that is all the more true when it comes to reading the Bible.

I love my solo early morning times with the Lord, but I know that I need others in on my walk with Jesus as I keep putting one foot in front of another.

A sweet and simple way of inviting someone else in has been through asking them if they’d like to read the Bible with me. Sometimes it feels like a clunky gear change from everyday chat as I’ve asked, but I’ve never regretted asking.

What does it look like? Opening up this precious, life-giving word. Reading a passage. Hearing God’s voice as we talk about what the writer is saying and what it means for us.

The sweetest fellowship fuelled by the book we have in front of us.

Who could you ask? We’re praying you’ll give it a go, and enjoy rich, shared moments in God’s word together.
