Season 13: The Fruit of the Spirit

As we begin the new year, we are also celebrating our 4th birthday as a podcast! We have so much to be thankful for as we look back on the last four years of pressing record on our conversations, not least how much we have grown in our view and love for the Lord Jesus. But with the joys of pressing record, also comes the necessity of guarding our hearts. What are we guarding our hearts from? Whether it’s the danger of just churning out another season, or seeking to please the listeners, algorithms or statistics, we’re very aware of the temptations to fear man over fearing the Lord in this endeavour. Ultimately we want to guard our hearts from being hearers but not doers of the Word.

And so, the season we’re about to start - on the Fruit of the Spirit - is the fruit of our prayers as we’ve sought wisdom on how best to guard our hearts in it all at the moment. It’s going to feel different - we’re not journeying through one book of the Bible from start to finish. Instead, we’ll be taking different portions of Scripture, as we seek first and foremost to gaze at Jesus. But in all of the difference, the core of what we’re doing this season remains the same. We’re opening the Bible, cups of tea in hand, and seeking to listen to what it says, driving it deeply to our hearts in the process.

Will you join us as we do so? Whether you’re new around here or have been listening along for a while, we pray that it’s a fruitful season for all of us, as we seek to dwell deeply on what it is to be a follower of Jesus, displaying the fruit of His Spirit in our everyday lives.
