Cuppas, Caring and Praying
When you’re a tea-drinker, it’s hard not to be invested in other peoples’ tea-drinking habits. It’s not that there’s only one way to make a cup of tea, but there are some ways that are simply detrimental to the experience of a good cuppa.
During my time in America, there have been a handful of times when my concern has reached such a level that I have felt compelled to intervene. It likely involved water being heated in a microwave, a tea bag being dropped into a mug of hot water or creamer (half milk/half cream) being dripped into a delicate cup of Earl Grey.
As I take the cup, drain it of tepid water and start again, I hope that my (possibly overzealous) commitment to my friend’s cuppa doesn’t put them off but enhances their tea-drinking experience.
But, it’s only a hot drink. A momentary pleasure.
In Philippians, we see all-out investment in, and care for, one another’s spiritual well-being. The level of concern Paul demonstrates outstrips any of my tea interventions, and is of eternal worth.
We see brothers and sisters in Christ partnering with one another through prayer. Paul prays consistently, confidently and thoughtfully for these Philippian believers.
We would love to invite you to partner with us by praying for us, as we pray for you - our listeners.
As you listen, as you drink a cup of tea while you read your Bible, as we come to mind for whatever reason, we would covet a moment of your prayer time.
Please pray that:
The Lord would establish the work of our hands in this podcast, and use it for His glory and purposes.
We (the Two Sisters team) would hold fast to the Word of life, and love to live in obedience to Jesus in all areas of our lives.
God would be powerfully at work in the hearts and lives of everyone who opens their Bible as they listen along to these conversations.
Thank you for your partnership, we ‘pray with joy’ because of it!
